Hi there! I’m Kate, and I live in the District. That’s what a local calls Washington, DC, or the District of Columbia. Perhaps you call it Our Nation’s Capital, the Federal City, or DC. It’s all good.
“So where are you from originally?,” is a common question in conversations here.
I’m a Displaced Buffalonian. I’ve lived in the District for, on-and-off, 15 years. A few years ago I found myself saying that I was a Washingtonian naturally. I didn’t even hesitate. I found that scary at first, because I love my Buffalo heritage, but I now embrace it. I’m spreading the hospitality, neighborliness, and love of pierogi that a Buffalonian has been born with here in the city.
I love connecting. In fact, that is a main reason why I started this effort.
